He is the one who sealed a pact to save his lands from the encroaching Darkness. The curse became his strength and his burden - in exchange for the power he received, he had to find restless souls and feeding his flame with their essence. But as soon as the flame begins to fade, a cold patina begins to creep across his copper bones
The steel collar and shackles on his hind legs symbolize his eternal service.
On Halloween, he becomes most active and fully regains his form.
